This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
This is my third painting to use the newly reformulated Sennelier watercolor paints and my goal was to experiment with how boldly the paint can be used while still tolerating glazing to be applied over layers. The Sennelier Opera Rose is probably the most heavily pigmented I have ever used and even when applied fairly boldly, it still accepted a glaze of Sennelier Red without any issues. The "table" that the vase sits on is a very heavily applied Burnt Sienna with a glaze of Sennelier Red on top. Although brush strokes are visible, the Burnt Sienna held up pretty nicely and its character really came through. All in all, I am extremely pleased with the Sennelier paints and they may take over my palette for a while. The original painting is 9.75"x13.75" in size and is painted on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper.

Lovely painting of what I consider the most difficult flower to do....all those petals get so confusing!

Thank you Marsha! The petals definitely get confusing at times and it is tough to concentrate on where you are in the piece. I have found that some dahlias are that way too. They make the eyes bug out!
