Description
This picture was taken from the old Chain of Rocks Bridge. When it was a bridge for automobiles it was part of Route 66. it closed to vehicular traffic in 1970. It is now just for pedestrians and bicyclists. One of my favorite views and places to walk around.
It was built in 1929 and features a 22-degree bend (which you can see in the picture). It is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was featured in the 1981 movie, Escape from New York.
