The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
🔳Memories turn dusty, old and gray ⭕Momo Lhamo escape Tibet in 1959 during the Chinese invasion. Like thousands of Tibetans (including the Dalai Lama), Momo Lhamo then 36 years, carried her 8 year old son for days crossing the perilous Himalayas on foot. After 53 years in exile, she out-lived her son and grand-daughter. She now lives in a senior's home in Nepal, managed by the Tibetan Government in Exile. ⭕The exile government takes care of approximately 1000 senior Tibetans lodged in 14 homes across India and Nepal. There are about six more similar homes run by different NGOs. ⭕These seniors are either alone like Momo Lhamo, or very poor. Due to a strong sense of filial duty and affection in the Tibetan community, cases of old parents being abandoned by their families (or the Tibetan government) are virtually non-existent. ⭕With special love and honor to the elderly, His Holiness the Dalai Lama also bestows monthly gratuities of about Rs 500 to them.
