One of many lakes named Jane in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this one specifically lies on the Drott property just across from the Wisconsin Boarder. While a relative of the Drott family fished I painted this drifting back and forth across the center of the lake in a row boat.
I am from the Midwestern United States and paint the places where native and urban landscapes intersect. I focus on native plants highlighted by manmade structures turned surreal by the passage of time. With a strong background in the classical fine arts I often move towards mixed media, fibers, and collage while always hinting at landscape or figurative subject matter.
