Onions (optional)
Optional-Nigerian pumpkin leaves or spinach (fresh or frozen)
4 stock cubes
Smoked Turkey (optional)
Dried Catfish fillet
Chicken drumsticks (as many as you want-I used 4, because I was eating alone)
Prawns
Method of preparation:
- Cut half a portion of the Okra into tiny pieces. The more tinier, the better (as it draws even more). Blend the other half. -Finely slice the pumpkin leaf into bits (if it's frozen, defrost and slice it).
-Wash and put the chicken, titus, smoked turkey, dried catfish fillet into a pot.
-Add the stock cubes, salt, grounded (or blended) pepper and onions with a litre of water to steam properly -When it is well cooked, take the Titus out in a separate bowl (this is to ensure it doesn't disseminate in the soup)
-Pour a little palm oil in another pot, just about enough to fry the okro. Let it heat up properly.
-Add the chopped and blended okro in the pot and start frying till it draws. Add a bit of the meat stock each time to give it a good consistency. Try not to overcook it though.
Now add the meat and fish including the prawns into the pot with the rest of the broth/stock and leave to simmer. Add salt to taste if needed.
