Carmen Cuevas de Marquez was born in Cabrils, a small town outside Barcelona,Spain in 1966.
She studied graphic design at the Pau Gargallo Escola d'art in Badalona and photography at GrisArt Escola Superior de fotografia in Barcelona.
After working in different places,Carmen decided to work as a freelance photographer specializing in black and white.
In 1992,she traveled to Australia and spent a year there learning English.After returning to Barcelona,Carmen dedicated the next three years to photographing different theatrical works.In 1998 Carmen traveled to the United States for the first time.
Throughout the years,Carmen's photos have been exhibited in different places in several different countries,and published in various magazines and newspapers.She is passionate about photography,especially black and white and working in the dark room.
In 2008 Carmen got her first digital camera and completed her first project in color which was a collection of photos of old cars along Route 66 in New Mexico.
Carmen is currently living in Albuquerque,New Mexico with her awesome husband and their two wonderful sons.
