This is the eastern side of ruins of an old house in the Near North Riverfront neighborhood in St. Louis. It was probably built in the early 20th century. Before Interstate 70 was built this was part of the Old North Neighborhood but in being separated from the old neighborhood, the few stray houses left over didn't fair so well. Most have ended up abandoned. It looks like this one was a victim of fire. As you see he wall has collapsed and is exposing the interior to all the elements. I'd be surprised if this house is standing for too much longer.

I was on a walk the day I took a picture of this. Most of the area is industrial warehouses, yards, machine shops and such. There are a few houses in bad shape but this one really stunned me. I do go back and visit it to see how its holding up. This was taken in the Spring and over the Summer it becomes overgrown with weeds.
