The #Cimarron #Creek #Golf #Course, located at 1800 6450 Road in #Montrose #Colorado closed for business in 2008. As I was walking the #pathways, exploring the #grounds, I was approached by a man I had never met before. As he came closer, I felt myself growing uneasy, thinking to myself that he was going to tell me I was trespassing. Fortunately, that was not his intention. In a friendly manner, he introduced himself as Richard and began pointing at various areas on the grounds, telling me about his plans for transforming the former golf course into what he called the #Common #Ground #Community #Center (#commongroundmontrose). His vision included a number of enhancements such as a flower garden & gazebo, volleyball, low ropes & climbing wall, high ropes course, disc golf, activity field, amphitheater, outdoor concert area, a community garden, and a community center building for indoor activities. He also wanted to add some water features. The serene setting is really quite #beautiful,...
