Description
A digital painting of minor league baseball players on Campbell Field in Camden, NJ, is combined in this picture with a Nick Virgilio haiku about the hearing impaired watching the play at the plate.
Virgilio, a poet who is buried in Harleigh Cemetery near Walt Whitman, wrote about Camden NJ in haiku, a Japanese form of poetry that he adapted to an American landscape. His work can be found in the book, "Nick Virgilio: A Life in Haiku," which is available on Amazon and on my own press website, www.turtlelightpress.com Aside from writing about Camden, nature and Philly, Virgilio penned some incredible poems about the loss of his brother, Larry, in the Vietnam war.
