Photo by @stephenwilkes: In a city known for its more unconventional beauty, quiet moments of light and color make their way into the cityscape. In the 26 years since the Berlin Wall came down, the city has thrived, and become one of the most interesting cultural hubs of Germany.
I’ve just returned from a month abroad, traveling to Italy, Germany, Holland, and India to scout and shoot new locations for my series, Day to Night. I have a few days rest at home before I’ll return once again to Holland.
Traveling to so many locations in such a short amount of time can send one into sensory overload, often having only a few moments to digest the scenes unfolding—tucking them away for remembrance during quieter moments back home. This rainy day in Berlin was one such moment. Amidst the chaos of scouting and traveling in a foreign city, I had just a few seconds to pause in this crosswalk to capture the soaked and bustling city contrasted against the bright rainbow cast across the German cityscape.
