This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I took this photo of this amazing sculpture of Icarus whilst walking thru an old casino in Murcia. The statue was on loan from Guevara Palace in Lorca, Spain. Icarus was the son of Daedalus who dared to fly too near the sun on wings of feathers and wax. Daedalus had been imprisoned by King Minos of Crete within the walls of his own invention, the Labyrinth. ... My love of pets and wildlife started from an early age and learning to respect and care for wildlife came natural to me. My late grandmother used to try and take me to a different park each weekend as a small child even though we didn't have much money so that I could learn to spot certain animals; whether it be squirrels, frogs, birds etc. She taught me about the circle of life, where my food came from and she enriched my life with this knowledge. She taught me always to respect wildlife, listen to the woods, listen to nature and the noises and smells. Back then, being brought up in a single parent situation my nan couldn’t afford a camera so I sketched first, until I was eventually gifted the first Polaroid color...
