I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description

Former site of The Red Crown Tourist Court in Platte County, Missouri, was the site of a gun battle between lawmen and outlaws, Bonnie & Clyde and three members of their gang.

At 1:00am on July 20, 1933, lawmen attempted to apprehend the gang, Clyde and gang member, W.D. Jones, and Buck Barrow - Clyde's brother-in-law, all three shooting their BARs right through the windows and doors of the cabins. The lawmen returned the fire. The gunfight was heard miles around.

The lawmen had blocked the garage of the gangs rented cabin with a patrol car. The outlaws opened fire on it immediately and the rounds penetrated the car. Driver George Highfill was shot and the horn was hit and began blaring an unyielding wail. The lawmen assumed this was a cease-fire signal. Highfill decided his car was not equipped for this barrage, so he backed it away, and the cabins' garages were no longer barricaded. To add to the confusion, an officer behind the cabins fired off a tear gas rocket that...
