Description
The falls on Vickery Creek (also known as Big Creek) are a short walk from the Old Roswell Mill in downtown Roswell, Georgia. Vickery Creek is a tributary of the Chattahoochee River which flows through the Atlanta area and is the region's main water supply. The falls flow over a dam built in 1853 to power the machinery of the cotton mill which was a major supplier of fabric used for manufacturing Confederate uniforms during the Civil War. The mill was in operation up until 1974 and is now operated as a commercial center.
