Diana Raquel Sainz, United States and Madrid, Spain -

My Vision and Mission: 'Photography With A Cause'.

I go wherever my camera, canvases, and paints take me!

Creating the ability to bring REAL LIFE to those who otherwise may never see not only the true beauty of this earth but the reality of the decaying, the sick, poverty, contaminated areas, polluted water, and the number of children and adults who die each year due to our own faults. Exposing the truth that so many either choose to ignore or are completely oblivious to. Photography With A Cause!

An award-winning professional photographer and writer, author of two books with a focus on travel, people, vacations, strange destinations, entertainment, sports, the oddest of the oddest, and whatever may grab my attention.

An author of two books, 'Signs of Life' and 'Sacred Grounds', working on several other books about the Valley of Liebana in Spain and the Salton Sea in California, vacation spots in Europe, and the Stonewall Correctional Facility. Many proceeds from each project are donated to different cancer foundations and or the areas of interest of the books to help the people in the area. I am a true humanitarian.

I was born in Madrid, Spain to a very musically talented father, Alfonso Sáinz, founder of what has been now awarded by the Cantabrian region as Spain's most popular and historical band in Spain's history, Los Pekenikes, and a very artistic mother from Orlando, Florida (Yes, I am a very proud daughter of both of my artistic parents.

I have managed to obtain their artistic abilities but express them through my photography and paintings. I grew up in Spain and Florida. I have lived in Spain, Maryland, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Madawaska, Maine, Kansas City, Missouri, and Southern California. Carrying Dual Citizenship, I tend to travel between my homeland of Spain and the United States often, as well as any country out there that I must see and I must see all of them..

Although I worked in Healthcare for 18 years, since I was a small child and was handed my first point-and-shoot camera, I have been snapping away. The ability to share what I see through the camera lens, capturing memories frame by frame, the beauty or reality of life, taking people to places they have never been, bringing loved ones together, the very essence of innocence on a child's face, or the excitement and happiness one experiences during a victorious event, Photography has been my passion in life.

My focus varies, allowing me to experience different subjects and types of photography, and allowing me to meet people of diverse cultures, and professions. My adult children have followed in my footsteps and have been an inspiration to much of what I do. Their encouragement to pursue my dream has given me the freedom to put my heart in soul into a passion I love. Currently working on a documentary and the final release of my father's last CD ever recorded. Alfonso Sáinz, leader of one of Spain's most influential bands of the '60s and '70s, Los Pekenikes.

Production Coordinator and Director of Media and Public Relations for the Independent Film 'The Encore of Tony Duran' starring Elliott Gould, Gene Pietragallo, William Katt, Nikki Ziering, and Cody Kasch.

My father ~ Dr, Alfonso Sainz ~ Los Pekenikes

After 35 years Alfonso Sainz and Tim Coons (Producer of the Backstreet Boys and President of Cheiron Music Group) were reunited for a documentary I started to make on my father's life as leader of one of Spain's most famous pop and rock groups, Los Pekenikes, the 1960s, and 1970s.

From this meeting, a fire was lit, and my father Alfonso was once again back in the recording studios working with Tim Coons on 'Tu Eres La Mujer' as well as 6 additional songs to be released one day soon, I pray.

My father passed away on April 17th, 2014, he recorded the last song for his final album the week before his surgery. My goal now, as I promised him, is to take it as far as I can go! My father is now 'Cerca de las Estrellas', I miss him terribly.

Other interests: photography, painting, sewing, genealogy, and history! I am always wanting to go and try something new! (Except for weird foods that should never be eaten! :)

You don't take a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, and the people you have loved.
