Description
This large portrait was inspired by the National Museum of the Pacific War and Admiral Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg, TX (which you should absolutely go see if you ever get a chance; that museum is amazing). These are the highest ranking admirals in the history of the United States Navy and the men who won the war at sea in World War II. No other admirals have been awarded the five-star rank of Fleet Admiral before or since.
Clockwise from top left:
Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy
Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz
Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King
Fleet Admiral William F. Halsey

Thank you very much Laneea! I really like the tone of your pencil work as well, the tone really draws the viewer in.

Great work, Stacy! My favorite admiral didn't make five stars, but probably should have, if Halsey did, I think. Spruance of "Midway" fame. Many say he was probably the smartest of the bunch.
Stacy Clifford replied:
Yeah, I tend to agree that Spruance should have gotten the last 5-star slot over Halsey. Anybody that could make King feel like the second smartest guy in the room was doing something right.
