I painted this on a very hot day in July. The tree was recently burned. It was never that green and the sky is never that blue, but if you get hot enough it might look differently. The trunk is graphite.
I am from the Midwestern United States and paint the places where native and urban landscapes intersect. I focus on native plants highlighted by manmade structures turned surreal by the passage of time.
