Description
In 2015 Juror MARGARET DOWELL awarded this painting an "Honorable Mention" at the Mattawoman Creek Art Center's "21th Annual Juried Art Show". This 24" X 24" acrylic composition was done in 2008-2009. Here for many tourists is a familiar view when entering Nantucket Harbor from on board a ferry. Notable for whaling, for more than a century, between 1750-1850 the headquarters of the global oil business was a small island named Nantucket, twenty-four miles off the coast of Southern New England. Nantucket is easily reachable year round by ferry boat or plane service. Tourists can view the beautiful landscapes, historic unique designs of homes or their wide spread beaches.
