This ain't nothin' but a hound dog in a wheelbarrow painting. This commissioned watercolor painting, like all my pet portraits, was painted in my studio by using a photo taken by her owner as reference, as if Maggie was posing in my studio. This sweet old dog with sad eyes was such a fun image to paint!
Capturing a priceless moment in an instant with today's digital technology has made it possible to paint accurate details, anatomically correct images and create the feeling of movement in a motionless art form. I have changed the colors of my original painting in a digital program. The original colors of the painting are in my image called DARN DOG DAYS (also in this gallery).
